OHC had 80% market share for 30 years.

Which is exactly what made them an easy target.

Overseas Hardwood Co. dominated market share in one category and was just getting started in another. We started with proving they belonged in an emerging market, then solidified their place as the category leader in another.

Diagnosis

It’s hard to explain attention to detail to a customer when looking at two newly coated cladding boards side-by-side. The difference comes months or years down the road when it’s too late to switch products. It wasn’t enough to talk about it, customers needed a behind the scenes look at their coating line to see it themselves.

The next challenge was staying relevant in the trailer flooring industry, a category they had led since the 90s. Being the standard is great until market shifts, copycats, and new products start to threaten revenue.

Treatment

For the Transportation brand story, rather than replace their history we revitalized. Using footage from their old promo from the 80s spliced together with new footage and interviews today, we could reinforce past experience without dwelling on it.

Then we filmed the coating line properly. The camera gets closer than any visitor (or employee) can stand, creating a VIP tour experience for every viewer. Now the video does the selling long before the first call.
