The Problem

Owners of engineered wood product Rainier Plank - Travis and Terry Tebb - had the best vertical grain cedar product on the market. Too bad the rest of the world didn’t know it yet. They had built a great business over 20 years without many updates to their brand or marketing, but felt that would need to change to reach the next level in revenue.

That’s when a client suggested they should give us a call.

The Pitch

It’s not easy to convince a company used to spending $0 on marketing that they should overhaul their brand, website, create social accounts, and start taking photos and creating videos all at once! But we were confident that they needed strong messaging, lead generation, and messaging before we could create stellar videos.

They asked for references and called previous clients to make sure we could do what we said, and took the plunge on everything!

 


 

What we did

Since the product was a veneer, our new messaging focused on the beauty of the surface of the board rather than the core. We implemented the slogan “It’s what’s on the outside that counts” to emphasize that all people see is the surface so its worth saving money with a veneer product. Coupled with a new brand, website, and engaging content Rainier Plank immediately started attracting new business. We also tracked down several influencers who already loved the product and collaborated with them on content.
