Design vs. Build: The Minne Stuga

Description

Tucked away in the northern woods of Minnesota just off the coast of Lake Superior (about as close to Canada as you can get) sits a quaint A-frame cabin called The Minne Stuga. This cabin is more than a summer home or vacation rental, it was thoughtfully designed to help the owners and others disconnect, look up from their phones, and look out into nature. But, getting this 1950’s mail-order-chalet up to code and useable was no easy task.

Objective

Part of the Design vs. Build series and sponsored by Kebony, the goal was to capture Melissa’s story of the restoration of the Minnestuga, highlight the Kebony used and capture key testimonials for Kebony brand to be used in various other deliverables.

How We Did It

After preliminary phone interviews, our team landed in Minneapolis to conduct Melissa’s interview, gather some b-roll of her and her family and formulate the baseline of the episode. A production team of 4, returned for an additional 3 day shoot at the cabin where we captured Anton’s interview along with Ben’s host spots and all other necessary b-roll.
