Thirteen companies, one bio
I read the bio of every big US window manufacturer. They all said the same thing.
I once read the company bio of every US window manufacturer doing $50M+ a year.
13 companies.
7 mentioned quality.
4 called themselves industry leaders.
4 mentioned craftsmanship.
3 were "nationwide or global."
1 was "innovative."
All 13 told me how long they'd been in business.
Your value props aren't bad.
They're just everyone's value props.
And when everyone says the same thing,
your buyer hears nothing.
Except the price.
That's convergence.
Every brand in a category drifts toward the same five words
until the only column left on the chart is cost.
Here's the test:
If a competitor could paste your tagline onto their website without changing a word,
it isn't your tagline.
It's the category's.
